Most people know me today as an entrepreneur or “the agency guy,” but a few years ago? I was just a regular guy with a laptop, some ambition, and a wild dream to build something of my own. Let me tell you one thing, success isn’t something you’re handed with your morning coffee.

You’ve got to carve it out with experiments, blunders, and a whole lot of figuring it out as you go.
That’s pretty much how ShortVids came to life, our unlimited content creation service built to take the creative chaos off your plate. Now, if you had told me a few years ago that I’d be running a video editing company with a global team?
Honestly… I would’ve laughed.
Not because it sounded crazy—okay, maybe a little — but because there was no plan, no pitch deck, no “we’re building the next big thing” moment.
It started with something super simple:
A few edits for my personal brand. That’s it. No grand vision. Just “Hey, let’s make this video look decent.”
What was supposed to be a quick side hustle somehow turned into this full-blown, round-the-clock content agency trusted by 300+ businesses and the team across 5 different time zones working together—and yeah, I still pause sometimes like… wait, how did we get here?
If you’re curious, stick around… because the story is anything but typical.
Editing Videos Was Never The Plan
I was simply creating videos to build my personal brand in the beginning, we were never trying to offer editing as a service. I was just filming, cutting clips, my younger brother used to help me with editing stuff, and we were posting regularly. There was no big bold strategy behind “let’s just stay consistent.” It was more of a habit than a hustle.
The idea of turning this into a service?
Nowhere in sight.
Selling video editing? That didn’t even cross my mind.
And yep, this was way back in 2021. Funny how something so small can turn into something so big.
One Coaching Call Changed The Direction
I was part of many coaching groups where content creators and agency owners used to share opinions and their takes on changing trends. Things really started to shift during a group coaching call with Alex Hormozi. Yes, you heard it right “The Alex Hormozi”. At one point on the call, Alex casually mentioned how serious he was about scaling his personal brand. He even talked about launching a book.
If someone like Alex, who clearly knows what he’s doing—was going all-in on video content, I figured maybe it was time I started paying attention too. He wasn’t just posting casually. He was obsessed. And here I was, still celebrating when I posted twice a week. That moment hit me like, “Okay Dev, maybe it’s time to level up.”
Thought Of Selling Editing For The First Time
After that call, a new idea popped into my head:
What if we just tried selling video editing services?
No master plan. No sales funnel. Not even cold outreach. Just… see what happens.
It felt like the right idea at the right time… It’s COVID era, businesses are shifting online, and traditional advertising and marketing are becoming a thing of the past.

So, I created a basic Fiverr gig. Nothing fancy—just a simple listing, a few samples, and a “let’s see if anyone bites” attitude.
One of those random “why not?” decisions that seem small…
But ends up changing everything.
Short Video Trend Was Already Rising
This was right around the time short videos started taking over the internet. Everyone suddenly became a content creator, trying to post fast, stay relevant, and ride the algorithm wave. Post-COVID the internet was full of reels, shorts and bite-sized content.
What started as a trend quickly turned into the backbone of online attention. And somehow… we just happened to be in the right place, at the right time. No strategy. No forecasting. Just pure, accidental genius.
In fact by 2025 short‑form videos are expected to make up 90% of all Internet Traffic. And no this is not something I made up to convince you guys, you can check it at Woosuite.
Random Gig Started Gaining Traction (Somehow)
That random Fiverr gig? Yeah, I literally put it together using some old edits from my personal brand, hit publish… and totally forgot about it. No strategy. No follow-ups. Just a “let’s see what happens” moment.
It sat there untouched for weeks—because honestly, I didn’t think anyone would even notice it.
But then, out of nowhere, it started picking up. A few views turned into a couple of messages… and then came real inquiries. People were actually asking for editing help.
Still Fully Focused On SaaS Work
Even while the gig was live, I didn’t see editing as a business model yet. My main focus was still on helping SaaS clients. I was deep into product launches, marketing strategy and growth work. I didn’t even realize that the Fiverr gig was doing well… until one random day.
32 Messages On A Random Day
Meanwhile, I was still buried in SaaS projects—launching products, building funnels, writing copy like my life depended on it. Editing? That was still a background hobby in my mind.
Five months after creating that Fiverr gig, I logged in to Hire A Freelancer for something else. And boom… that’s when I saw over 32 unread messages asking for editing help.
And that’s when it hit me:
“Okay… maybe this isn’t just a side thing anymore.”
Used My Editors To Close The Deals
I didn’t waste time. I hit up the same editors who’d been helping me with my personal videos—basically, the unofficial ShortVids team before it was even a thing.
We jumped in, started replying to everyone… fast. And surprise surprise—the more we replied, the more deals we closed.
No fancy proposals. No 10-slide pitch decks. Just some straight-to-the-point messages like:
“Hey, need edits? Cool. Send the files.” (Not really, but yeah something like that.)
Simple chats, quick turnarounds, happy clients.
Who knew business could actually work without a five-stage funnel and a webinar?
First 15 Days On Fiverr Were Wild
We weren’t just editing for fun anymore. We were building something that people were actually paying for.
The first real turning point came fast. In just 15 days of actually replying to messages on Fiverr (yeah, shocking what happens when you actually log in), we worked with 13 clients and made over $4,000.

And for someone who had zero plans of turning this into a business?
That was a straight-up “Whoa… this might be something” moment.
I was already in profit within the first month.
No funnels – No ads – No sales team. Just a basic gig page and some fast edits.
And fun fact? Two of our first-ever clients, Colin Matthew and Greg from the Wiedmann Group—came from that exact Fiverr listing. Wild.
Team Started Growing Fast
What started with just the three of us quickly began to grow. One project turned into five, five turned into fifty—and before we knew it, we were bringing on editors, managers, and coordinators. Not to build an empire, but to simply make content delivery feel effortless for our clients.

We didn’t rush it. We added people carefully, making sure every new team member actually got what we were trying to build.
And somewhere along the way… we crossed 400+ reviews on Fiverr alone.
Not from flashy marketing or crazy offers, just from listening to what clients needed, delivering on time, and actually caring about the work.
Launched First Website With Per Video Pricing

At some point, we knew we had to step outside Fiverr. So, we built our first website. It was super simple… just focused on short videos with per-video pricing. Let’s be honest, it looked nothing like what you see today.
No slick branding, no fancy copy. But it was ours. And more importantly, it was our first real step outside the marketplace world… a small but bold move toward building something of our own.
You can still See It Here
Clients Started Coming Outside Fiverr
In 2023, we finally started working directly with clients outside Fiverr and that changed everything. Our little team grew to 8 people, and suddenly we had more freedom. We could offer custom packages, have real conversations, and build long-term relationships without the limits of a platform.
With my sales background and the creativity of the team, we landed some big wins—Jakib Sports and Fit Focus Media were two of our biggest clients that year. Business took off. I mean, we went from handling 15–20 orders a month on Fiverr… to delivering 150+ edits monthly across multiple clients. It was wild.

Worth mentioning, it was also the year when ShortVids stepped in the world of AI content creation with our client Michael Makabi, an entrepreneur with a futuristic vision – what a guy he is. That project didn’t just open new doors; it put ShortVids on the content creation map.
As I kept connecting with more creators, the vision got clearer – This was no longer just a video editing service anymore. It was becoming something way bigger.
Switched To Subscription Plans In 2024
And Finally 2024 was the year, when it struck that ShortVids has the potential to become more than just a Video Editing Service for creators and coaches. Being an agency owner myself, I thought “why not sell our services like an Enterprise Solution for Brands & Businesses”.
Why? Because businesses didn’t just want one video here and there. They need reliable editing month after month for their marketing and advertising. I mean which business don’t want to sell right?
That’s when we launched our subscription plans because at that point I didn’t want ShortVids to be just another “video editing agency”. My vision was bigger and broader. I wanted to turn this business into a memorable brand. Something with which people can associate themself and get a sense of luxury.
So I launched our Start up plan costing $999/month at that time, mainly for small businesses with the demand of short-form content.
Long Form Editing Was Next
By this point, everyone was doing short-form content. And not gonna lie.. the competition was getting real. It felt like a new video editing service was popping up every other day, all focused on reels, shorts, and TikToks.
But there was one space hardly anyone was talking about, long-form content.
Podcast edits, YouTube storytelling, VSLs… the stuff that actually holds attention for more than 60 seconds.
So, to set ShortVids apart, I expanded the agency into long-form editing. We started taking on podcasts, interviews, explainers—the full package.
And that shift helped us land clients like Jesse Sieff and Gene Slade from Lead Ninja. Working with them opened up a whole new angle… and sparked a fresh idea that would shape what came next.
Creating NEW is Not a Solution Always
In content creation, everyone’s obsessed with creating something new every single day… like it’s a race to burn out first.
But here’s the thing no one talks about: sometimes, the smartest move is reusing what you already have. Yep, repurposing. Not glamorous, but seriously effective.
So we started doing just that. Along with short-form and long-form edits, we began repurposing old content—webinars, podcasts, YouTube videos, you name it—into fresh, high-performing clips.

And if you’re thinking, “Does that even work?”
Ask Gene Slade.
He started with us around 20K followers on Instagram. After we repurposed his content across multiple formats? He’s now closing in on 70K. That kind of growth doesn’t happen by chasing trends… it happens by making smart use of what you’ve already got.
That’s also why Gene and the Wiedmann Group upgraded to our Agency plan.
Because when recycled content performs better than brand-new stuff… you stop guessing and start scaling.
How Was 2024 For ShortVids?
Let’s just say—2024 showed up big for us.
ShortVids finally started making a name for itself. We weren’t just “that Fiverr editing team” anymore. We were closing clients left and right—from credit repair pros to real estate coaches, even B2B brands like Earth’s Secret and Floss Consulting.
Me and my sales team were on fire.
Revenue hit an all-time high.
Operations were smooth.
Our onboarding flow? Polished to the point where even I was impressed.
Yes, the agency was growing but for me, it started to feel static. And if you know Devvrat a little, you know how competitive I can get. I wanted more… I didn’t want ShortVids to become one of many. And so to rise above, I kept on expanding my vision, adding new services to our current plans. So, when a client joins ShortVids, their every content need gets satiated under one plan, one place.
By the end of 2024, ShortVids was thriving.
But me? I was already asking the next big question:
“Okay, this is working… Now how do I do more?”
Services Evolved With Smart Subscription Support
January hit, and I don’t know what it was—maybe the caffeine, maybe the momentum—but I was full of energy. I was ready to make some “New Year, New Resolutions”. So, I started to explore more domains in content creation. At that time, we’ve gone way beyond basic editing, we are no longer just a video editing company, we are becoming a whole new creative agency who offers everything that a business needs to stay consistent without building massive in‑house teams.

We added new services—not because it looked good on a sales page, but because our clients actually needed them. And when we rolled them out, most of them upgraded without even blinking.
Here’s what we started offering:
- Short-Form Video Editing – Reels, TikToks, and YouTube Shorts with fast turnaround.
- Long-Form Video Editing – Full edits for podcasts, interviews, webinars, and YouTube content.

Moreover, we launched our ShortVids Unlimited Content Subscriptions three tailored plans that fit different types of creators and organizations because our plans should also grow along with your business.

With new services, upgraded plans, systemized workflows, and consistent client onboarding… everything felt “sorted”.
Yet, I felt like there was something still missing.
So, on the journey from “just a business” to a real brand, me and the creative team at ShortVids figured—it’s time for a little makeover.
Because let’s be honest… we’d been so busy delivering for clients, we kinda forgot to give ourselves a glow-up.
ShortVids Got A Whole New Look
Our old branding was built when things were still scrappy and I was still figuring a lot of stuff. Quality and consistency was more important in the starting years than a look and feel. It worked back then but it didn’t really represent who we had become.

As we kept growing, I realized it wasn’t just the services that were evolving but the brand had to grow up too. So on 1st of April 2025, ShortVids reborn from the ground up.
New logo, new identity and a new website that finally felt like us.
Agencies Talk Process – We Brought a Personality
We didn’t want to be just another editing agency with a logo and a Google Doc. We wanted to feel like a brand people actually liked—something fun, reliable, and full of energy.
So… we did what any bold creative company would do.
We got ourselves a mascot.

SeVy – your friendly neighbourhood content crusader. Sevy became the face of ShortVids. He is basically the friendly editor you never knew you needed, always working behind the scenes to keep the creative magic going.
You’ll see him on our site, on our social media, in our blogs, and sometimes even in our emails.
So… How’s It Going?
Well well well, let’s just say, it’s going better than expected.

ShortVids is now ranking everywhere. We’re holding our own (and in some cases, beating) big names like Superside and Video Husky. I mean, yes, that was the plan, but this soon… I didn’t imagine, honestly.
Clients are noticing, leads are flowing in, and even GPT now recognizes us by name… which, let’s be honest, is peak internet clout.

From a random Fiverr gig to being mentioned in the same breath as top creative giants…
Yeah, we’d say things are going pretty well.
What I’ve Learned Along The Way
ShortVids didn’t begin with funding, a fancy office or the “perfect” plan. It started with one video at a time and one client at a time. With curiosity, a few good editors, and a single random gig on Fiverr from there we just kept showing up.
We had no idea what this would turn into—but one thing we did know? We cared.
At ShortVids, we cared about the work, the people, and actually helping… not just delivering files. And even now, with a global team and clients across the world, we try to keep that same vibe:
Reply fast. Stay real. Do great work.
Because behind all the subscriptions, animations, and fancy AI tools… we’re still just a bunch of people who love building stuff that actually matters.
And if there’s one thing I’ve learned?
Starting small isn’t a weakness, it’s probably the smartest way to build something real.
Where I See ShortVids Going Next
If you ask me where I want to take ShortVids, it’s not about chasing titles or building just another agency.
I started this with nothing.
No funding.
No grand business plan.
Just a few edits I was making for myself… and a gut feeling that maybe this could turn into something real.

And now, after hundreds of clients, thousands of edits, and a global team that still surprises me with what they can do. I want to build the most trusted creative engine for businesses around the world.
Not just a video editing service.
Not just a content agency.
But a plug-and-play system companies can rely on to stay visible, scale content, and never worry about creative bottlenecks again. We’ll keep evolving—adding services, simplifying workflows, and staying ridiculously reliable.
I want it to feel like plugging into Stripe or Notion:
Simple. Fast. Essential.
And while I know we’ve come a long way, I remind myself often—

“The best way to predict the future is to create it.”

— Peter Drucker
That’s what we’re doing… building the future of creative work, one small step at a time.
Because if I’m being honest?
It still feels like we’re just getting started.
